6-4-3 DP Baseball celebrated its 2024-2025 season in August with its annual awards ceremony held at Pope High School. The event celebrated the accomplishments of the 2025 6-4-3 teams and players with individual, team and special awards presented to many of the organization’s student-athletes. The 6-4-3 Foundation also announced its annual Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award at the ceremony.
This year marked the 11th year that the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship was awarded to a graduating 6-4-3 student-athlete embarking on his college journey. The foundation received applications from seven qualified and deserving young men. Each one was very accomplished and had a unique story to tell. The 2025 recipient of the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award was Padgett Wilson, now a freshman at the University of Georgia.
Padgett graduated from Riverwood International Charter High School in the spring. While at Riverwood, he was an honor student receiving all As in a rigorous IB and AP curriculum while also being a two-sport athlete and participating in several clubs and organizations holding a leadership position in Riverwood’s National Honor Society chapter. Outside of school, Padgett was active in the Young Men’s Service League, Christopher Baseball League and Solidarity Sandy Springs. On the baseball field, Padgett was named Pitcher of the Year by 6-4-3 DP Baseball and received multiple All Region selections while at Riverwood. In his application, Padgett connected two of his passions – baseball and math – in a unique essay about perfecting a slider. Making this connection led him to choose a future in Mechanical Engineering.
“We are very grateful that Padgett was chosen for the Price scholarship. Sports and community service have both been very important in his high school experience,” said Padgett’s mother Melissa Wilson. “ The 6-4-3 Foundation and its work is such a nice complement to the baseball organization. We are thankful to have been part of 6-4-3.”
Since 2014, $19,000 has been awarded by The 6-4-3 Foundation to talented student-athletes through the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship Program. Past winners of the merit-based award include the following:
