- What is the Coaches vs Seniors Baseball Game? The 6-4-3 Foundation and 6-4-3 DP Baseball sponsor a 6-inning game as a friendly competition between the 6-4-3 coaches and the graduating 6-4-3 seniors. The proceeds benefit the foundation.
- What is the schedule for the day?
- Gates at Aviation Sports Complex (455 Aviation Road, Marietta) open at 10:00 am
- Coaches will hit batting practice on Field 1 beginning at 10:30 am while seniors will hit BP in the cages. 6-4-3 players who wish to shag balls should line up by the 3rd base dugout at 10:20 am.
- Pregame will begin at 11:45 am with announcements and the National Anthem.
- First pitch is at noon.
- How much does it cost?
- Admission is $10 for anyone over the age of 6. Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the gate using a credit card, Venmo or cash.
- Are there other activities that occur that day?
- 6-4-3 players are welcome to shag balls as the coaches hit batting practice on the field before the game. In addition, there are fun contests between innings that youth players may participate in.
- There will be coach and senior parent interviews.
- The foundation will have a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and may be purchased online in advance or at the gate using a credit card, Venmo or cash. Winner receives half of the raffle pot.
- Are there special rules for this game? New in 2024, the participants will play under a few “Banana Ball” rules:
- If a fan catches a foul ball, it is an out. So bring your glove!
- If a batter walks, he can try to score. All fielders must touch the ball before the batter reaches home plate to prevent a run.
- Batters can steal 1st base on any passed ball or wild pitch.
- If a hitter bunts, he is ejected.
- Whichever team scores the most runs in an inning gets 1 point. The team with the most points wins the game.
- In extra innings, the team in the field can only have a pitcher, catcher and one fielder.
- How can I show my support for the teams? There is a fundraising competition between the 2 teams. Each team receives advantages by hitting certain thresholds of fundraising. The team that raises the most money receives an additional advantage. You may donate to the teams here.
- What are the fundraising incentives for the teams? Each team’s goal is $1500. The following advantages apply:
- After $250 is raised, team is allowed a runner on second for one inning
- After $500 is raised, team is allowed an extra fielder for one inning
- After $1000 is raised, team can choose either an extra run or an extra out for an inning
- After $1500 is raised, team is allowed to ask for a “replay.” The result would be based on crowd reaction.
- Advantage for winning team will be announced when winner is announced before the game.
- What else do I need to know?
- No one is allowed in the dugout or on the playing field except the game participants. The only exception is the youth players who shag balls or participate in the games between innings, but they may not enter the dugout and must leave the field after participating.
- Concessions will be available for purchase and those proceeds also benefit the foundation.
