6-4-3 DP Baseball celebrated its 2023-2024 season August 18th with its annual awards ceremony held at Pope High School. The event celebrated the accomplishments of the 2024 6-4-3 academy teams and players with individual, team and special awards presented to many of the organization’s student-athletes. The 6-4-3 Foundation also announced its annual Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award at the ceremony. The 6-4-3 Foundation, the charitable arm of 6-4-3 DP Athletics, was launched in 2013 and continues to do impactful work in the local community.
This year marked the 10th year that the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship was awarded to a graduating 6-4-3 student-athlete embarking on his college journey. The foundation received applications from five smart, talented and well-rounded young men. The 2024 recipient of the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award was William Blosser, now a freshman student-athlete at Covenant College.
William graduated from Campbell High School’s International Baccalaureate Program in the spring. While at Campbell, he was an honor student maintaining a 4.5 GPA, and he earned his IB Certification. William was a member of National Honor Society and Beta Club where he participated in multiple service projects. He earned GHSA Region 7A First Team honors and a Golden Glove Award.
“Winning this scholarship has helped me unlock the door to my dreams and create a path towards my future without stress. It’s more than financial support; it opens doors to new opportunities that will help me excel in college and beyond,” said William. In his application, William talked about overcoming personal obstacles on the baseball field through grit and hard work. He shared his story of resilience and determination and how pursuing the dream of playing college baseball gave him a sense of purpose during a time of immense grief. His teachers and coaches praised his work ethic, character, exemplary attitude and appreciation for the process.
“(Winning this scholarship) is huge. It really helps with school costs. It’s tough for a single parent to afford everything and it helps me help William live out a dream to play college baseball!” said William’s father, Randy Blosser. The 6-4-3 Foundation and staff of 6-4-3 baseball congratulate William for this well-deserved recognition!
