Over 150 volunteers, including about 75 6-4-3 baseball players made The 6-4-3 Foundation’s inaugural Day of Service a success! It was an amazing day giving back to others who share the community near Aviation Sports Complex and across Cobb County.
The soccer clinic at the East Cobb YMCA, the volunteer work in the Simple Needs GA warehouse along with the furniture deliveries, and the invaluable participation at the Marietta City Schools’ Literacy Kickoff were highlights of the day. These partners gave glowing testimony to the value of the volunteers as well as how much they enjoyed the interaction with the young people.
We are able to deliver 50 birthday kits to Simple Needs GA, 107 hygiene kits to the Tillman House and many cards and letters will go to the Yellow Rose-Strong Oak Society and Rally Foundation. Let The Kids Play took several bins of clean, usable sports equipment and we hope to partner with them again soon.
Families also took Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer 2-Day Walk postcards to place in their communities to help spread awareness about the walk. After the Day of Service ended, we were able to deliver some leftover breakfast items to the Marietta Fire Department near Aviation Sports Complex and they were very appreciative.
