Annual ‘Crusaders for Carson’ Fundraiser Underway

September 16, 20240

Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is the number one disease killer of kids in America. Less than 10 new drugs have been developed to treat childhood cancer since 1980. These three statistics, provided by Rally Foundation, keep The 6-4-3 Foundation in the fight to end childhood cancer. Launched in 2017 as Coins for Carson, the ‘Crusaders for Carson’ campaign is our way to both help in the fight and honor one of our own. Carson Rozsman was a member of the 6-4-3 family when he began to have headaches and double vision in the summer of 2016. Soon after, he was diagnosed with DIPG, a form of inoperable brain cancer. He underwent treatment and fought bravely for 8 months. Following Carson’s death, The 6-4-3 Foundation partnered with Rally Foundation to establish the Team Carson Cancer Research Fund. In addition, 6-4-3 DP Baseball created the Carson Rozsman Courage Award to both honor and remember Carson’s passion for baseball and courage throughout his cancer fight. This award is a special honor given at the annual 6-4-3 Awards Ceremony to a 6-4-3 player who demonstrates great strength in the face of adversity.

We will continue to collect donations to the Crusaders for Carson campaign until September 23rd. Carson wore #3 on his back when he played baseball and would have graduated from high school in May 2025. Consider a donation in a multiple of $3 or $25 to honor him. We hope to present a check to Rally Foundation for at least $2500 this year. Rally Foundation’s mission is to empower volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures. The 6-4-3 Foundation is a proud and supportive partner of Rally Foundation and, to date, has contributed almost $30,000 towards childhood cancer research.
